Owner Chuck Spielman opened his 40 thousand square foot facility
on a Sunday afternoon to host just over 2 dozen San Diego Members
of the Buick Club of America. The September 16th event enabled local
members to get an up close view of a major restoration shop and
talk with the staff members and learn some new skills. Cars undergoing
complete restoration at Only Yesterdays ranged from a 1917 Model
“T” Speedster to a 1971 Pontiac Trans-Am getting “ Body Off” ground
up restoration.

area in Sorrento Valley.
BCA
members enjoyed a Pizza & Caesar salad lunch in the sprawling
work shop area on tables set up by Spielmans employees and were
able to view his personal collection located in an adjacent area.
Chuck Spielmans 40 car personal collection on display ranges from
a couple of Duesenbergs to late model muscle cars as well as collector
cars from the 30’s and 40’s.
As
promised in the pre-event flyer, the person driving the most impressive
collector car to the September 16th meet would get a special prize
and Joe won the award with his Classic Limo.. The prize, donated
by Lee Carroll was a cushioned bar stool that Joe found immediate
use for at his place.

Joe Ambrose’s 1937 Buick Limited series 90 Limousine was selected by the Only Yesterdays restoration
crew as the most impressive collector car driven to the meet.
